    Sad news! DUW

I have been cutting my tarantula collection down for the past 2 years now due to my growing snake collection.. and today every last one of my tarantulas will be going to a new home!

This gives me mixed emotions, I have been keeping insects/arachnids for 10 years now, and have had mainly tarantulas for the past 4.. with about 50+ tarantulas during those years. After this trade I will be left with 2 hot scorpions and a tailless whip scorpion, but I will no longer have tarantulas!

Thought I would post pictures of some of the past tarantulas I've had, enjoy! Pictures from oldest - newest:

Sorry for all the pictures! Anyone want to guess on some species?

Thank you, they are all very different, I think I will miss their little photo shoots the most.. some of them look absolutely stunning in pictures.

They're going to someone is very respected in the AZ herp. community, so I'm pretty sure he will give them an excellent home and I won't have to worry about them too much!
I'll be getting an 8' female RTB, 3' female RTB, rosy boa, 2 sand boas, and a hognose for them so I'm very happy with the trade that will happen.. this will double my snake collection so I'll be really busy the first month or so while I try to get a new schedule down!

Hah you would be surprised with how attached you can get to them! I had raised some from when they were months old until they were full grown! I'm really happy with the new snakes I got though, I got 4 little babies today and a boa that is big enough to eat my cats.. EEK.. I'm almost thinking of keeping the big boa in a different room

Awww.. at least you'd be getting better pets in return I'm also thinking about selling some of my tarantulas to finance my future snake keeping, but since balls are not that common here, I'll be keeping them for now. Hopefully I'll be able to breed my Ts! You've got beautiful tarantulas there. I especially like the P. irminia.. I'm surprised you're able to handle it

Ha, the P. irminia is crazy! I'm probably crazy for handling it! That was on the first day I got the tarantula from a friend, I was trying to move her into her new cage, and she had just gone through a shed so I just moved her by hand since I knew she wouldn't bite me.. thats the only time I've ever handled a T that aggressive.. The next week she was jumping up and showing her fangs to everything that walked by her cage!

Yep, theres an OTB, red knee, red leg, 2 different rose hairs, an antillies pinktoe, and an orange banded birdeater!

Which one did you think was the tigerrump? I use to have one of those but never had any pictures of it.
