my ball could not finish his mice looked like my ball was almost dead.I had to open his mouth and pry the mice out.could he have sufacated withot my help
No, he could not have suffocated. The entry to the trachea (glottis) can move to either side, thus allowing the snake to breath while eating. A snake would not usually begin swallowing something that it couldn't finish. How big is the snake and how big was the mouse? Also, in the future, never pry a rodent out of your snakes mouth. It is extremely stressful and damage to the esophogus is a high possibility.

I have seen that happen from time to time. Not so much with Balls, but some other species can take their sweet time swallowing. As long as the prey is of proper size you really have nothing to worry about.
