Ready to tell? (Large Picture)
I have seen these "identification" threads in the past and was wondering- can anyone sex my crestie? I know Emily is supposed to be an expert of sorts, but everyones opinion is appreciated. This little guy is about 4'' tail included (why wont they just hurry up and grow big!). Very sorry about the enormous picture, but I figgured the higher the resolution the better chance at making an accurate prediction.
It looks like photobucket resized my image, its actually much bigger than that. If you think a larger image will help, pm me your email address and I can shoot over the full size. Thanks

Re: Ready to tell? (Large Picture)
I need a nice clear close up if you can get one. You can send the full size pic to emily @ cookreptiles .com (take out the spaces) and I'll see if I can tell anything from it, but I think I'm still gonna need something closer. At that size I use a jewelers loupe to sex, so the closer the better!

Re: Ready to tell? (Large Picture)
I'm not totally sure but I might see some pores in the larger pic. I know I could sex it 100% if I could see it in person I just can't be totally sure from the photo. Feel free to send me more photos if you want, I just can't guarantee that I'll be able to tell you for sure.

Re: Ready to tell? (Large Picture)
Unfortunately I'm across the county, so I don't think you would be able to check it out in person. I will try to get some more pics, but getting him/her to stay in a position where I can even see their underside is quite a challenge. Now multiply that with trying to get a camera to zoom in and focus correctly. Anyone have any tricks that they use to get a good clear picture of a cresties underside? I don't like to grab his body and force him/her upside down, the last thing I want to do is hurt him/her.

Maybe wait til he is hanging out on the side of the tank and then get a good shot of his bottom? That would only work if you keep them in glass tanks though, I suppose. Alternatively you could put him on a pane of glass and try to get a good pic from the other side.

Re: Ready to tell? (Updated!)
More pics, I wish photobucket didnt resize these
These are actually the same picture, the bottom one is just a crop and zoom in of the top one.

If you can e-mail me the full size version of the first one like you did before I'll take a look.

Re: Ready to tell? (Large Picture)
In an effort to make this thread more interesting, here are some pics I snapped today. These are all of the crestie in question.
As you can tell, my clown fish insisted in being in that second picture. I also though I should mention that my crestie spends many long sleepless nights watching my clowns parade around the depths of my nano-reef.
