A few questions about building a rack

I am about to build a rack using 41qt sterilite tubs.

My first question is what size flexwatt should I use, and whats the best place to order from?

Second question, is it okay to weave the heat tape in and out of each shelf instead of individually wiring each shelf?

And last but not least, any advice on this build? It's going to be my first rack build and I hope to be able to have 15+ tubs.

That is a page from our website, and if you decide to use this style, and have any questions, please let me know. As for the heat tape, Rich at www.reptilebasics.com has the best customer service and a great selection.

Okay, so its not okay to just weave it in and out of every shelf and I'm going to have to wire each shelf seperately.

But which size heat tape is best to use?

You could do it that way, but you will waste a lot of flexwatt. I'd recommend single pieces of 11" flexwatt for each tub when using a 41 qt tub.

I heard that 11" flexwatt wasn't so good. I forget the exact reasoning behind it though. Would you say its just as reliable as other sizes?

Re: A few questions about building a rack

I've decided to save a little bit of money for my first rack, and just build it to fit 4 41qt tubs to house what I already have. I'll go bigger eventually, but right now I just want this room more organized.

Anyway, I drew up what I think the measurements and everything should be in paint. Please let me know if this is correct or if anything needs to be changed.

    and Obviously its not drawn to scale. The 41qt tub dimensions are 34 3/4"L x 16 1/2"W x 6"H
