I'm sorry I can't help on the ingredient issue, but here is an article that might help.

You need to clean your animals with something and their tanks too, and do that regularly until the little devils are gone.

The best of luck on the war, may you be victorious!!

    Re: War of Mites!!!

    Provent a mite contains .05 % Permethrin...

There is a spray you may find in stores that carry camping supplies, Repel Permanone, that is for spraying camping gear against ticks, it has the exact same concentration of permethrin...

In pharmacies, you might see little aresol cans for human lice, with the same chemical, to spray sheets, beds etc...

Hope this helps, most important is make sure permethrin is the only active ingredient, and allow the spray to dry completely...it's toxic to reptiles when it is wet...don't let them near the wet spray...

    Re: War of Mites!!!

You CAN get rid of them with over the counter reptile treatment, it's just more difficult. We did it by treating the animal (it was spray that goes on the animal) followed by immediate cleaning of the cage in super hot water. We did this every 3 days or so until they were all gone. It took a little extra time and diligence, but they're gone for good now.

was told this stuff: REPEL - PERMANONE
    It contains 0.5% Permethrin

Use it, like you would with the PAM-Provent-A-Mite. Do not put on your snake.
