WHY do we have to wait 15 seconds???????

I'm a search kinda of guy. I like to search for old threads, new topics and every time I get the following message.

"This forum requires that you wait 15 seconds between searches. Please try again in 1 seconds."

Just wondering why this requirement is in place?

    Not fussing, just wondering.

It's a flood control system. "Search" is a cpu intensive process. Putting a time limit will ensure that things don't slow down for every one else.

Beautiful, figured there had to be a reason, just had no clue what it could be.

Thank you very much, rep points all around
