potentially stupid question
Is it safe to get feeders (mealworms, crickets) at bait stores?

Re: potentially stupid question
It sould be fine. A lot of the bug wholesellers market to small animal keepers and as bait, so I'm sure they are all the same.

SAWEEET!! i bet they are much cheaper than the local pet store chains.. the guy i usually get crickets/mealies from gave us 1,000 and the container was LOADED with little bugs, i was PO to say the very least. I was able to get 500 mealies from petco for $6.99 they were much fatter than the ones i get from the supplier ive been working with although a bit more expensive. ($8 per 1000ct from the breeder) off to 411.com some bait shops

You could raise your own meal worms

Re: potentially stupid question
Mealworms are extremely easy to breed yourself. I've slacked off a bit so I only have two little containters of babies growing up to feed to my leopard gecko, but just give them fresh food and enough space and they will multiply like crazy. I seperate the stages myself. Makes it easier to keep track of things.
