FUNNY!!Guess what i did with my snake last night!
I woke up this morning to have my mom screaming that the snake got out!
I look for it for a while. then I go down stairs and ask my dad were i should check.
he says "under your bed"
that triggered a thought in my head...
I fell asleep holding the snake!
Luckily i run upstairs, lift up my blow up mattress and there he is!
Lucky me!
I just dont know how he got under, its a pretty heave bed with me on it.
Anyways, Thank god i found him.
I got a kick out of that and thought id tell you guys of my experience.
got any that can top that^?

Re: FUNNY!!Guess what i did with my snake last night!
My sav has contagious sleep, she'll fall asleep on my chest or shoulder and before you know it I'm fighting to stay awake lol. She did it to me on the reptile room floor today. The room is COMPLETLY lizard proof so she can't escape or hurt herself or tear any thing up (I had a lot of time to prepare while I was waiting for her). All she can do in there is walk in a large square. I accidentally nodded off for 10 or 15 mins and she has still sleeping on my chest, then she got down and started to waddle in a big circle. Believe me this is or will not be habit but I think it's funny, it's like when some one yawns every one else yawns (kinda a chain reaction). My advice is escape proof any room that you keep or hold your reptile in (especially if you have other animals i.e. dogs or cats). If an accident happens you'll be glad you did.

Yeah, I can top that - every time I've fallen asleep, all of my animals are secure in their tubs and not able to roam my room - it's really cool that they are safe!

Re: FUNNY!!Guess what i did with my snake last night!
when i first got into bps my husband fell asleep while holding nellie (my first bp) while i was cleaning her and a few other cages in another room. he came sheepishly after a while and i pretty much flipped out on him and proceeded to tear apart the bedroom where he was holding her (luckily i found her under a dresser). i didn't find it funny at all and my husband is no longer allowed to sit on the bed while holding or babysitting the reptiles.

glad you found him.
Some people have lost their reptiles for months and I can assure you, they don't usually get a kick out of it but they do learn from it.

Back when I was itty bitty, like, friday-fun food concessions after school young, I fell asleep holding my kingsnake I had at the time. Four months later my dad nearly steps on him when he went to the front door early in the morning to get the newspaper. Turns out he'd been literaly chilling on the tile floor in the foyer.

Re: FUNNY!!Guess what i did with my snake last night!
It's no fun when a snake gets out. What if it would have gone while you were asleep, and gotten into a place where it was either stuck, or in real danger? I had one escapee back in 2003 with I started getting into BPs. Her cage sliding door was left open and she got out. She was found by my husband and I, frozen and lifeless in the basement (it was wintertime; dirtfloor basement.) Se had crawled into the heating vent and her weight broke the tape that had been holding the dustwork in the basement. Hewl, she could have ended up in the furnace itself feasably..
Please don't take snake escape lightly. Consider yourself damn lucky that your snake is not dead.
