    Deflea reptile relief

i need info on this stuff....

i have a buddy of mine that sprays this stuff on his snake once in a while..the spray is for mites and ticks, but you can use it to basically disinfect the cage too...what i was wondering is..if i sprayed this stuff on my snake and it sat in its water bowl would it do anything to the snake if it drank the water that it sat in with this chemical it had on it?

I'm not sure if it would harm it, but why not just take the bowl and snake out, spray the cage, let it dry, then replace the bowl and the snake?

i belief he was told it could kill the snake but i recently bought a small bottle of it and it says nothing about keping a snake away from water or anything else...im just wondering if anyone has used it before and what they have done.

There's no need to spray a mite killer on a snake if it doesn't have mites, even if it does disinfect the cage. A better alternative would be to use a Chlorhexidine solution on the cage if he is concerned about disenfection... other than that, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable if my snake consumed a product that was designed to kill other creatures.

i dont know why your buddy sprays it on his snake once in a while but if your bp doesnt have mites then dont bother using it. if your snake ever does get mites then you'll want to use provent-a-mite. it works much better and faster. to clean the tank i would just clean the tank with a diluted bleach soltion.
