    Weighing...

How exactly does one weigh a snake? What type of scale needs to be used? I feel a bit silly having to ask.

Gram scales, I started out by using a kitchen gram scale then purchased a digital, it made it so much easier.

Thank you. Can a gram scale be found at walmart or a similar store or is it something a bit harder to find?

    Re: Weighing...

You can find a decent digital scale at most major department stores in the kitchen supplies (food scale) or at most any large office supply store (postal scale). You can also find great deals on ebay if you search using "digital scale". You can also get one through a good online company such as Old Will Knott Scales http://www.oldwillknottscales.com or Reptile Basics www.reptilebasics.com

This is the one I have and I really like it http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/in...PROD&ProdID=12 (I just have all the other stuff, just the clear bowl, check their ebay store for current deals on scales). It has a nice hold feature so I can hold the weight while I put the snake back, then write it's weight down. An invaluable tool to track the growth of your snake (far better than it's length).

    Re: Weighing...

Funny thing, Steve, I was told these scales go through batteries fast so you need the AC adapter. I've had the same batteries in mine since I got it and it doesn't seem to use up batteries at all so I never bothered to buy the adapter. How's yours that way?
