    Your future pet "wish list?"

I got to thinking; it seemed like a cool thread idea, would be for us to post what pets we want in the future. Maybe we can't afford them now; or space/time is an issue. Or we already have something of the type that would not get along with the future pet..
So post away! I am keeping mine realistic. Mine:
-A Siamese cat. I know that they have weird temperaments and are energetic; this is why I would want one. I knew a few different people who had them. I always ended up having more fun playing with their cats at their houses than hanging out with the people who owned them! One in particular stood out; he was a huge cat and would play fetch with a crinkled-up cigarette pack. Awesome cats! I can't get anymore cats because our current one, while I love him to pieces, hates other animals and it would be unfair to him.
-A Doberman. I love these dogs and always said that if I got a dog, I'd get a big dog. They are another thing that friends of mine have owned or own. Not practical now for time-spending reasons, but in the future..
-A roan rat. I saw one that someone recently posted and boy, would I love to get my hands on one of those! Gorgeous fur patterns on them.. this is unrealistic because I don't know where I could find one.. never even knew they existed until I read the thread here.
-A different horse. Granted, we have 2 now.. but we sort of "fell into" them. While I love them both for their quirks and mannerisms, they are not technically horses that I shopped for.. they needed homes, and we wanted horses. I will not sell them unless finances demanded it, but my next horse will be a gelding or mare of impeccable temperament that I could toss a 2-year-old up on hypothetically, who is bombproof yet not dead on his feet.
-Crazy BP morphs that I cannot afford, like Pieds, Pewters, Clowns.. etc.
Unrealistic: a flying pegasus. Wouldn't it be awesome to pull up at work on one of those!?
    How's about you?
-Jen. Back in the hobby after a hiatus!
    Ball pythons:
    0.1 normal; 1.1 albino. 1.0 pied; 0.1 het pied; 1.0 banana.

    x2 on the bp morphs!!

I want a cat....just a cat of any kind. I love cats. Mandy is allergic, and where I live, we have a cat, but she hates me. I want my own cat.

I want a dog....maybe a lab. My dad never has liked dogs...raised us all to be cat lovers...but I have been around some precious dogs and would love to have my own.

and there are a ton of exotic animals i could list..but that's a bit list...for another day

Re: Your future pet "wish list?"

    My list (reasonable ones):
A Dobe, my favorite breed. Two dogs at a time is my limit though so it will be awhile. Would love another Catahoula at some point also.
Horses- my mom has 3, 2 of which are much older and arthritic. One is not ride-able at all and the 3rd is a former racehorse. A bit much for me to handle most of the time. I would love a AQHA, but a TB or Tennessee Walker would be awesome too.
BP morphs, waaaay to many to name.
Roan rat, that was the coolest looking rat. I always loved roan horses. I love the way the Merles look too but the health issues turned me off.
Another Macklotts python, still my favorite of all my snakes (and my only non BP) & a Bredli python.
A chameleon, pref veiled or panther.

    Totally non realistic:
a mountain lion. To me there is no other animal on this earth that speaks to me the way they do. My only tattoo is of one.
    1.1 crazy dogs
    4.3 even crazier cats
    2.2 bps
    2.0 Off Track Thoroughbreds
    0.3 human kids
1.0 Boyfriend who puts up with the craziness

Re: Your future pet "wish list?"

    Okay, I'm game for this:

    the reasonable:
more BP's, morphs, normals.. someday will have all that I want, at present space is an issue.
a dog.. unsure of a breed, hubby wants a british bulldog, I would love either a great dane, sheltie, or a Rhodesian Ridgeback.
    crested geckos
and the unknown.. dont know what it is until I see or learn about it.

    unrealistic:
a dragon - like the ones from the Pern series or from the dragonlance books.
    a black panther.

    Pewters aren't all that expensive.

Arabians are absolutely great horses for they're temperment. Plus they are certainly not dead on their feet. They have the stamina to go for long rides and can run pretty darn fast. And they can be the sweetest horses. I have an arabian mare and now a gelding who we bred from her. They are both purebreds and are so calm! We have never even formally "broken" Kahreem yet (the gelding), he's just green broke, but he just loves people so much that he doesn't care what you are doing to him. we have gotten up on him and ridden him a bit and he doesn't even budge, not even the first time.
Plus they are a slightly smaller horse, so are perfect for younger riders as well as adults.
