Well that is garters that have yet to tame down, I had a beautiful red sided garter for years, she bit once and it was not bad an never musked.

Though I agree one musk and you will have an adversion to garters for a long time

your correct. The only garters I've dealt with are wild caught ones. I use to catch them when I was a kid. I never tried to keep them or tame them down. The musk is more than I can stand. I would have to say its a very effective defense. It kept me from eating it.

i'd say a ball python...that was my first snake which i've had a bit over a year, now i'm hooked...and it's thriving and it's really friendly even my little brothers (5 and 8) play with sanchez...with supervision ofcourse and sanchez seems to enjoy being out and slithering around. so my choice goes for BP's

I was just commenting on what others said about checking legalities. I noticed your userid said you were in Ohio and thot I would point out that about Ohio. Also Corns are not native to Ohio. Some garters are(eastern, eastern plains and Butlers). If it is a native species you cannot own it without a permit.

Ball Python all the way!!! calm easy going snakes but take more attention on the temps and humidity than corns and kings...Good luck Mech warrior...and try and let your friend have a say on what you pick for his pet..He'll really enjoy the freedom!....You know what they do to dictators...Hmmm...only trying to help

    Merry Christmas
