Is high activity a bad thing?

I've had my corn for a while now and he/she has been doing great and growing like mad. When I first got it it was just a little wriggly worm that was hard to even hold. He's steadily been calming down, is around 14"-16" long, and is eating the larger pinkie mice.

Here's a baby picture. Going to have to take some current ones...

Also, he's very alert and has a sort of spunkiness to him.

He's very active and comes out daily and cruises all over his cage. His behavior doesn't have an anxious look to it. For example, he'll stop and bask right out in the open in the cool side or right under the heat lamp. Sometimes he sleeps in his little half-coconut hide. He also regularly crawls around under the bedding and sometimes even sleeps totally buried. He'll stay completely buried for days when he's shedding.

There's really nothing that seems wrong but I just want to make sure this activity level is normal. Its quite a bit different than my pythons which spend almost all their time camping in their hides.

Considering that my 14month old corn snake spends most of his time hanging out in the corner of the tank totally open to view, I think it's ok. When they're younger they have more energy and "curiosity", but I believe that even full grown corns are at a much higher activity level than pythons... heck almost any other herp is at a higher level than pythons

    That's a cute corn, BTW

Don't worry, he's normal. Some snakes are just more active than others, one of my bp's is like that except when shedding. Day or night, he'll come out.

cool. I have just been amazed at how active he is and I started wondering since it can be a bad sign w/ pythons - esp BP's.

Thanks! You can't see in the picture but he goes really grey in the back half. I guess he's just a "normal" but I still think he's an awesome looking snake.

I'll post some current pics soon.
