Milton's New Trick... (death from above)

I feed in a cardboard box out of the enclosure... he gets two mice, so while he's constricting/swallowing the first one I sometimes go about other business (in the same room)... well, Saturday when I glanced over to see how he was doing, this is what I saw:

He's balanced on the edge of the box! My wife wanted to see if he could figure out how to get the next mouse, so she just put it in the box on the opposite side. I thought he would smell or 'hear' it and move on over there, but instead he waited for it to come by and snatched it from above!!!

This was interesting enough, but I was wondering how he would swallow it- I thought he'd drop it and go over to it, but no!

It never touched the ground again! He used a coil to get that first grip, then just swallowed away- sometimes he does a 'gravity feed' where he puts his head up to help it down, but this was done just as it looks- hanging!

    And finally:

Next I'm going to train him to drop from tree limbs!

Yeah, sometimes I wonder how all that fits into a mouse... He gets a new box each week!

That's why I'm against hybrids. You obviously got a BP with GTP blood lol. I have a couple BPs that will do this. My Macklots always used to kill and eat while coiled on her log (she really thought she was a GTP). She would even catch rats in mid-air and bring them into her coil. She was definately lazy, and vicious. Nice pictures.
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?
