    Am I feeding enough?

My BP is about 20 inches long, and I am feeding him one f/t fuzzy mouse weekly. Is this enough?

Length is a bad indicator how much does he weigh ?

    Re: Am I feeding enough?

I would bump him/her up to a small adult mouse. They can easily take hoppers/small adults right out of the egg, so a small or medium adult mouse would be just fine. I have babies who were born on the 24th of July, as well as some who were born in the middle of August, who are taking medium adult mice. They do very well with them and you'll start seeing some good growth.

Feed your BP a prey slightly smaller than the girth size (widest part of your BP's body) once a week.

Fuzzy is more than likely too small as most hatchling are started on hoppers.

Here's a picture so you can judge better (I do not have access to a scale):

(I didn't let him eat that by the way! It's still frozen in this pic)
(Sorry the color is terrible, camera battery was dying)

    Still think it's too small?

    Bump
I'm gonna feed him a hopper today, which is maybe half an inch larger than a fuzzy. My boyfriend said it looks meatier than the fuzzy. He only poops once every couple of weeks. Does that indicate underfeeding? Also, can I get some opinions on that picture I posted and feeding size for my snake...? (I want him to get big!)

I think overffeding to make your BP is a bad idea - they will just fast. AFAIK the adult size of a BP is not rally directly related to feeding but a good diet as a juvenile will mean they grow faster.
Some people claim rats will increase a BPs growth but I am not sure how hard the evidence is - I've only ever fed rats to Monty fuzzies to start with and then weaner/smallsmall rats.

I never said anything about overfeeding. I am trying to find out an appropriate size feeder to feed, weekly.
