insolating UTH in take?
i have home built wood tanks and need to put the UTH in the tank. what are some safe ways to make sure electrical shock doesnt occur? thanks guys and gals

I don't think there are any safe ways to have an UTH inside of a tank...I think I'd rethink that idea. I'll let other people chime in here, too...I just don't think it'd be safe at all. Between your BP's pee, and the possibility of having the water bowl knocked over...sounds like electric shock waiting to happen. I don't know what you could do to prevent the danger of shock/burn.

there are ways but nothing is safe. you could lay down the flexwatt and place a piece of tile, plexiglas, or linoleum overtop, and then seal it with silicone.
your best bet is to pick up a radiant heat panel. the hang on the top like a ceramic heating element, but it doesn't get as hot, so the snake can't burn it's self.

I have a home-made wooden cage also but i made my floor fiber board so the heat goes right through it as if it was plexi glass.

how much do they usually cost?? radiant heat panels that is.
