Re: My two albino Het girls DUW!!
Hey thanks, ya the first one is really a good eater. I have tried my best not to over feed but still put as much size on her by this season. I am not keeping my hopes up for any action this year but it would be nice.

Well I guess we can't be too upset with you as you posted some now. Some nice looking girls too. Glad to see I'm not the only one who has em tend to grow fast (I think mine has been averaging about 5 inches a shed). Good luck with breeding em, should have some nice looking babies if it works out for ya.

Thank you, you know I hesitated on posting them up. I looked at a lot of pics and everyone elses pics of breeders that were 2000 Grams plus were 3 & 4 years old. I am glad to hear I am not the only one.

Mines puny compared to that. Shes probably about 8-9 months old, think she was around 400 grams last time I weighed her. Anxious to see what she measures in at after this next shed (shes in the blue right now). And as for breeding I have no idea when you can start, I haven't read much about it considering if I was to breed it wouldn't be for at least a few years.

Re: My two albino Het girls DUW!!
Hi,
The recomended weight for breeding is 1500g and above as smaller females can have a harder time of it and some of the complications are really quite nasty.
Generally there seems to be agreement they should reach the breedable stage at around 3 years of age but if they are still under the weight it's best to wait an extra year.

I don't think you are pushing them too fast so don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Mike
There you are, thanks man the J Douglas female is pushing 2200 grams were I think the Will Bird female is at I would guess 1000 grams. Both the male and female I got from J Douglas are better eaters than most scrubs. at any rate I need to get the males photographed. I have this new great camera, but its the time that is lacking these days
