    Dry Head?

Does anyone know why the scales on the top of a BP's head may become dry-like? I know it's not stuck shed because it wasn't like that after he shed and he hasn't shed since. The scales are a lot lighter than his others, they have a rough texture, and some even appear to be partially flaking off. This isn't happening on any other part of his body, and doesn't seem to be affecting anything but his appearance. I don't know what it could be as hes eating regularly, the temps are fine 90-91 on hot side, 82-84 on cool, 55-60% humidity.

It sounds to me like some of the scales are missing. When they shed, it is not uncommom to have a few of the scales come off with the shed. I would bet my next paycheck that after his next shed, you won't be able to tell those spots were ther. He'll look as good as new.

I have noticed this occasionally on Monty - not every shed cycle but a fair few he get the dry patch on the top of his head. It always sheds off well and seems to do no harm.
