Breeding male, splitting locations?

Ok, so I've had a bit of an opportunity come up in the last few days that I'd like to take advantage of. Another local hobbyist has two female BP's of breeding size and age, and would like to breed them with my male pastel this winter. I've also got a female I'll be breeding this year.

The problem is, she doesn't want to let me take her girls for a few months to get them bred properly. She's confident she can meet the necessary conditions to induce breeding, and i have no doubt about what she says. Would it be possible to breed my girl for a while, then move him to the other person's place to work with her two girls?

Another question this brings up is how to deal with the eggs. I'll have an incubator at my place, but she won't. Would it be possible at all to move the eggs her girls lay from their location to mine?

What about quarantine? If the girls came to you, they'd need to be quarantined. If the male came to her, he'd need to be quarantined. I wouldn't do less than sixty days.

I missed this part. Again, I wouldn't move the eggs either. Doesn't sound like she's "really" willing to work with you.

Agree. The best and really only way would be for you to get her females in a month or so, q-tine them, and then do all the breeding, return the girls when they lay, keep the eggs, and meet up again when they hatch.

So what is she actually so "confident" about? She's got a couple of bigger females but no experience as a breeder and no incubator...so basically...no plan at all. I'd pass.

Different female. I got a 6 year old, virgin female a couple weeks ago.

I was thinking of the same thing. What's to stop her from ignoring you and refusing to give back your male? I have had friends turn on me.. let alone people I did not know that well. I would pass; it sounds like more of an opportunity for her to take advantage of you.

keep in mind, she may be fearing you taking advantage of her too.. im sure theres nervousness on both ends. good luck whatever you choose, i would pass though
