Re: question...
I like to put the thermostat probe inside the enclosure, under the substrate and set it on the high ends at 84 and 94. This way, you get a good temperature on the top of your substrate (as long as it's not too think) and if your snake comes in direct contact with the glass, it wont burn itself
What kind of substrate are you using?

Re: question...
The thermostat probe should be tape directly on the heat source (outside the enclosure) so your BP does not move it, does not urinate on it, and does not tip the water dish close to it, which would cool down the probe and make the temps shoot up.
The digital thermometer the probe should be place on the warm side and the display on the cool side.
Now remember that if you set your thermostat on let’s say 94 the temps in the enclosure will not be 94 as the reading of the thermostat probe is directly on the heat source and the one of the thermometer is inside the enclosure on the warm side.
You will have to play around and see what setting of your thermostat will a allow you to maintain temps of 90-94 on the warm side, everyone setting is different as it depends on the type of thermostat, heat source, ambient temps, enclosure type etc.

Very, very good point. I think I wanted to do that, but couldn't because of the lack of space in the rack system.
She's got a better system, do as she says lol.
