    humidifier question

I had a question about the Tropic Aire Reptile Humidifier and Air exchanger. It uses a sponde in water and an airpump for air circulation. I am concerned about mold or mildew building up in the sponge. Like when you leave the dishwashing sponge and is smells like mildew.
Is there a danger of this?
Has anyone used this type of humidifier before.
Let me know if you have and if that has become an issue.
    Thanks

    Re: humidifier question

i tried one of these a few years ago, for a dartfrog setup.

worked ok, i would not recommend one for a ball setup.

for balls humidity around 50% is ok. bump it up around shed cycles. too much moisture is bad, i wouldn't want to deal with mold, mildew, fungi, etc.

getting the size of your water bowl and ventilation holes dialed in will help to maintain the right humidity.
