    Recent Rescues *DUW*

I got these two girls on the 19th/20th of this month from two different sets of folks.

The first female, Sarah graciously went and picked up for me, as a trip to Dallas AND Austin in the same day just wouldn't have made my car very happy. The snake is very small, dehydrated, and on the day of rescue, was just so unhappy she was axanthic looking. She's now in shed, but these pictures show just how small she is. She is supposedly 5 years old and is only 1155g... She has since been dubbed Zaranth.

The second female, I picked up in Austin... *shudder* The apartment complex was, well... trashiest of trashy trash. Oh, and a big Ew. The tanks were setup OUTSIDE in the sun, and her tank contained a hot rock and calci-sand. Even my non-herp buddy Shawnna recognized that as a huge No-No. The snake, or so I was told, is around 3-4 years old, but other than having sand in her hoo-hoo, she's no worse for wear. She currently weighs 1600g and has been named Loranth.

Thanks for looking! And don't you hate "re-homing fees"?

Great snakes and great names. Reminds me of Dragonriders of Pern. All the dragons had names ending in th. Love it!
