I live in Sahuarita, AZ which is about 30 miles SW of Tucson. In the desert!!
Rattlers...more rattlers....oh yea...and a few more rattlers! Please don't ask me the type as I have no idea...don't get that close.
I have also seen some king snakes around. And though these are not snakes I have seen....
Trantulas
centipedes
Gila Monsters
scorpions
and of course coyotes and the other day we had a bobcat in the back yard. Good times.....

Phoenix, Arizona here. Well, I live over in Scottsdale, which I guess is a suburb of Phoenix (maybe?). Anywho, here are the snakes I've seen here:
Garter snakes (most likely it was a Common Garter.. I think??)
Rattlesnakes (the holy Western Diamondback)
Black Headed snake (my friend found a tiny little baby one at school and he gave it to me LOL.. he said, "Here Tiffany, I got you a new snake.")

Re: Type of snakes you have seen in your area???
Personally, I've only seen copperheads down at the lake I live by, and little garden snakes. I'm sure there's plenty of other ones around here, but that's all I've seen =]
