Yep, I'm NW Ohio. I actively go look, and come across Water snakes most frequently. Fox Snakes are the hardest to find now. I'll be lucky to see one live and moving each year.

Re: Type of snakes you have seen in your area???
I have personally seen these within an hour's drive from our place.
-Garters; (there are some living in our dirtfloor basement, and they are all over the farm too.) I caught a nice checkered one last year that was a) huge, and b) mad! Musked me to no end.
-Red Belly Racers; they are a bit harder to find it seems, but they are around here too; some usually live in a pile of old roofing shingles out behind the barn.
-Green (Smooth) grass snake. I caught one years ago at my dad's hunting-club land nearby. Bright grass-green, awesome snake; I kept him for awhile as a pet. This was back some years and i have never seen one around our house or anywhere else.
-brown snake; seen at Tifft preserve. I saw..
-milk snake, there also.
Nearby but I have never personally seen: there are Eastern diamondbacks sighted at Allegny State Park, not terribly far away. There are more types also.
-Jen. Back in the hobby after a hiatus!
Ball pythons:
0.1 normal; 1.1 albino. 1.0 pied; 0.1 het pied; 1.0 banana.

plenty of garters and ribbon snakes. I have seen quite a few water moccasins along the Mississippi River and actually caught a baby one a few days ago.
