Remember me? *update*
I meant to post this a couple of days ago, but things have been really hectic this week.
Last year, on May 16, we bought my daughter a baby ball python for her birthday. Before we did, I did all the research I thought was necessary. I searched the internet, came up with a list of questions, went to the pet store and asked the questions (haha), and bought the supplies I was told we needed. Here's what that very first setup looked like:
Of course, it turned out that all the information I had found was wrong, and we ended up with a snake that refused to eat. Trey, later changed to Emily, got dehydrated and ended up with a prolapsed cloaca, so I took her to a vet. The vet gave me a supply of antibiotic shots and tube feeding supplies.
At that point in time, I was very worried about this little snake, and had gotten quite attached. I searched out forums, lurked as a guest for a while in a few, and then chose this one to ask my questions in.
So many people here gave me great advice and help. There's no way I could name you all, or thank you enough!
She got very sick and VERY tiny before getting better. Her smallest was 48g:
Once we got her off of tube feeding and eating pinkie mice, she started filling out a bit:
These days, Emily happily slams 3 adult mice a week, and is a sweet, happy snake living in a rack setup. I know you're all anxious to see what she looks like now
Emily this morning:
It has been a wonderous and exciting year for us, learning about these amazing animals, and Emily was our trial-by-fire girl. I firmly believe that she is only alive today because of the kind and generous people on this site. So to anyone who tries their best to help the people who come here looking for help, give yourselves a pat on the back, because there are those of us out here who appreciate it so very much.

Wow Sarah she looks wonderful! That first picture of her with the Snakes on the Plane thing, she just looks so tiny and maybe not going to make it and look at her now! What a testiment to your determination and unflagging care of her that she's the healthy, lovely snake she is today. Thanks so very much for giving us this update on her today.

Thank you, Aleesha! It was very touch and go there for a bit. I'm just so glad she made it through all that!
