Tricksy little girl
So I swore this girl was gravid over a month ago. I never saw ovulation, but she was laying warm and had big 'ol follicles a couple months earlier. I palp'd again last month (with a little resistance on her end) and tricked myself into thinking the follicles had stopped developing so threw the male in to try and jump start her development again. Well, surprise!! Some girls are easier to palp than others
Four nice big eggs, and one angry mama. She was bred to a pastel and a spider that is on breeding loan from Ken (Shirkin). Come on bees and supers!!

Re: Tricksy little girl
Grats Evan. I think it would be great to get a Bee and a Super from the same clutch. At least that is what I am hoping for for you. How many eggs in there Bro? Good luck on that clutch, and that mom looks pretty smokin.

Re: Tricksy little girl
Thanks guys! This is probably the clutch I have been looking forward to the most this season. She was a problem eater for the first six months after we got her as a sub-adult, and didn't put on enough weight to breed last year. She finally came around and started eating live dark (black and brown) mice last year and got to 1600 grams by the time I started cooling. There are four eggs in the clutch, and it weighs ~500 grams.

I would have to mirror that statement (it being the clutch I've most looked forward to)
