i would say no, most granites have more pronounced speckling, broken neck stripes, light heads, etc.


don't really know until you breed it and find out though

I did check out the next world exotics link and everything the granite should have from that site, mine does. Clear belly, break in the neck stripe, speckling on the sides, the only thing that doesn't match completely is the faded head. Although the head is lighter then the other normals I was looking at, not by a lot. It is faded though, specially back towards where the head and neck meet.

I'll try and get a picture of the back of it's head to show ya though

With some of our bps the fading on the head can develop over time. Your's may do the same, looks like you might have a granite. Always hard to tell from pics though, as apposed to standing there looking at it in person!

I tend to be very particular when I describe things... I would call it a "granite type" but not a granite.

It definitely has the speckling but I don't see the head blushing or dorsal stripes that most have. Maybe something new?

Curious what you mean by the dorsal stripes? Do you mean the break in the neck pattern or something else? Just curious because when I was comparing I was looking a lot at the next world exotics page and mine has everything the ones he talks about have, except the lighter head. He has a tiny bit of lightness on it, almost like a light spot, but not an entirely light head

There are many more variations, but they all follow the same rules.

1. Granite like speckling on the sides of the body
2. Break in the neck stripe
3. Faded head

Two things I look for.
1. Flames that start on the belly (Het Ivory like appearance )
2. Completely clear stomach

I will try to get more pictures of the different variations for you all and post them here.

Onyx has all but the head so here's hoping he'll prove out!

He doesn't have a ton, but he's got some in there, most of em ya cant see due to him being balled up while most of the pictures were being taken. If you look at the second picture you can see one of his flames, directly under the bend of his neck. I'll try and get better pictures. He ate for me so he has to wait a bit for pictures.
