    1 out of 10

Well, that what ate tonight. Only one. But what a feeding response on that one. I swear it smelled the food and went into strike mode before I could even slide open the tub. That one's going to be a good eater.
Still soon though. They only finished their first shed yesterday so expecting most or all to feed today was optimistic anyway.
They all showed interest in the hoppers so that's encouraging.
    Next week I'll try again.

This is the one that ate. Very happy that it was one of the females.

Steve, live african rat hoppers on the others, if they are going to eat that will be what they eat.

Why is that? Why would you need a ASF rat to feed a snake that hasn't eaten yet?

Steve, if they seem intimidated by the hoppers, I sometimes have success with live crawlers for a first meal.

Not really intimidated. They were actually looking at them, coiled back, tongue going a mile a minute, following the movement, but they either didn't realize what to do or just weren't hungry yet.

One of the females sure knew what to do.

I'm going to call the local herp petstore tomorrow and have them order me some for next week. Anything smaller than a hopper is a special order for some reason.

That's a pretty female you got there, I'd love to see more of that one with the Granite like speckling on the sides!

I too had a 1 out of 10 feeding response yesterday. This one took a f/t rat fuzzie. I was thinking about picking up some live feeders this weekend to see if that would trigger a better response than the f/t. Do you think this would be a good way to go, at least for now? This is my first experience with hatchlings... Any suggestions?
