That meal is in no way huge for that snake . Large to the unexperienced eye, yes. If we want to discuss the feeding ethics of this owner, we need to know the feeding frequency of such sized meals. Feeding a meal of that proportion weekly cannot be compared to feeding that same meal monthly. Let's not jump to conclusions.

No, I do have prior experience. I've always fed anything that wasnt a ball python a larger meal.

Actually, it wouldn't be too big for a Burmese Python of equal length. Reticulated Pythons are much more slender at younger ages than Burmese Pythons and African Rocks...therefore it shows a more drastic lump. To a Burm it wouldn't be as noticeable a lump. Retics usually don't put on alot of girth until they get older, and larger.

that is a big meal, no doubt about it, but as said before, tics have faster metabolisms, so that meal is ok, as long as hes not feeding it sooner than every 2wks. i understand where your coming from on that, if it was any other snake, burmese even it would be too big. lets not jump on him for thinking that, im not personally sure, but he might not have any experiance with retics, so he could be unsure. it is a good thought, and good intentions, he was concerned for the snakes well being
