No, it doesn't need that large of a meal to survive but it can obviously handle it. being "too big" would mean that it couldn't properly handle the meal right?

    I'm silly like that.

I take it back. Feed that snake as big of a meal as you can! Great pics!

Yea! Maybe I should throw her a goat next week!! We all know retics and other large boids get the perfect size meal in the wild!!!

But maybe the meal is too large... I will feed her a pinkie mouse next week!!!!

    Re: Oh snap!

that is a big meal, no doubt about it, but as said before, tics have faster metabolisms, so that meal is ok, as long as hes not feeding it sooner than every 2wks. i understand where your coming from on that, if it was any other snake, burmese even it would be too big. lets not jump on him for thinking that, im not personally sure, but he might not have any experiance with retics, so he could be unsure. it is a good thought, and good intentions, he was concerned for the snakes well being

No, I do have prior experience. I've always fed anything that wasnt a ball python a larger meal.

    Re: Oh snap!

That meal is in no way huge for that snake . Large to the unexperienced eye, yes. If we want to discuss the feeding ethics of this owner, we need to know the feeding frequency of such sized meals. Feeding a meal of that proportion weekly cannot be compared to feeding that same meal monthly. Let's not jump to conclusions.
