Would you be ok to comlpetely seal off the lid with tin foil and duct tape and punch a bunch of holes in the tape and the foil for air? Or using like a plastic tarp cut to the size of the lid with holes punched in the tarp be ok? I have it all sealed off but have a huge section missing where I had a heat lamp, that i am no longer using, for reasons of it killing my humidity, and when I look at the lids at pet stores they have a plastic cover over the cage that is completely sealed with holes punched in it, and their humidity in the tanks is dead on, which also allows them to use heat lamps since the cage isnt completely open, I'm looking into being able to make a lid like those, but in the mean time, would i be ok to try and recreate that seal at home? Or is there a reason this would be a bad idea?

If you are having issues with temps, I'd suggest using the foil. If not, you can use plastic wrap too.
