Wild turkey and deer photos :)

Here are some shots from our backyard.. first off, the deer.

The first 2 pics were from a few days (and a bit of snow) ago.. mark took these.

    I took these this afternoon.

And Mark caught this shot of a bunch of wild turkey last week.

And this panoramic view of the house/barnyard (roughly from where the deer in my photos were standing.)

The funniest thing is, no one that hunted here last year got any deer at all. Not one person, out of about a dozen guys going out at various times.. personally I think that they overhunted this tract of land.. when and if I do start hunting, I'll pick my own little spot and I know just where, to snipe from.. a bunch of half-awake people going into the woods bumbling around and they wonder why no one harvested!
Now my fiancee is an awesome hunter; I watched him on more than one occasion, taking does with a single shot; they fall dead in their tracks. But even he is no match for the landlord and his drinking buddies if they're determined to stink things up out there..

I wish we owned it! But does anyone ever really own land, or merely use it for a few years?
We have a great landlord who never plans on selling (not even to us) byr is gung-ho about nature and loves the wildlife.. single too, and plans on donating it for a sanctuary.

It is where I belong. A lot of people call me a redneck, a hick, etc.. but I grew up in the city, and now I feel like I am a fish in water, as opposed to, uh, a fish on land.
