    Re: My First Crestie DUW

he doesn't get really dark but his background color is a fairly bright orange and his dorsal area is a lighter almost yellow. kinda like a bicolor. he also has these neat little almost greenish splotchy spots on his sides--got those from his dad.

sorry rapture--had to answer. i just can't help myself when it comes to cresteds.

No prob... I think this is why I said he was more colorful when I first took him out of the box... looks like he had more oranges on him.

I haven't seen him really dark yet.

    Re: My First Crestie DUW

if you want to get him fired up for you do the following:
    - wait until after dark
    - feed him
    - mist down the cage
    - turn out the lights
    - come back in 5-10 minutes

ching! brightly colored crested. you can skip the feeding part if you want but i find that sometimes brings out even brighter colors than if you don't feed, especially if it's crickets you are feeding--get's them all excited.
