    RIP Laila

I just got to my dad's house and was running through the ritual reptile watering.
His crododile skink/orange eyed trib is dead. Looks like she's been that way for a while. Eyes are gone.

So, let's all take a moment and be thankful for the wonderful year that was enjoyed with Laila and her sassiness.
And, let's all be upset that people don't know how to take care of their pets.

I'm sad she's died. She was pretty cool. But at the same time I'm upset that he just gets tons of snakes and lizards and doesn't take care of them. I'm only down here once a week.. And a bowl of water only lasts so long.

    Re: RIP Laila

Man, what a tough situation. Just reading about it makes me angry. And to not even notice, or care about, the dead body until a visitor noticed the eyes were gone. I'm sorry, but your father is a criminal. Harsh words, but animal cruelty/neglect is a crime. If these were dogs or cats, the Humane Society would be all over him.

i think he feels bad enough without us saying anything unsupportive to him. this is one of those times we need to come together... as a family and wrap our arms around each other.

I get where you're coming from, but still...

It IS a tough situation for this person to be in, and thank goodness it isn't me. I didn't mean to imply any of this is his fault--it isn't. I wish there was something we could do to help, or something he could do. But it doesn't seem like there is. I just feel badly for the animals suffering in this house.

    Re: RIP Laila

Well technically it is his fault...
If your going to do something, do it right. Whether that be fixing up old cars, cleaning the house, or raising reptiles.

The government needs to set up a special prison for animal abusers where they are basically kept in tiny cages surrounded by death and feces. Sad part is...it wouldn't stop most people.
