Haplopelma lividum

The next spider species I'm going to get is a WC adult Haplopelma lividum. So I wanted to know if anyone had one of them if they can post pictures of the spider in their enclosure...also can you really sex this spider species by color? I have read posts where people say brown is male and blue is female is this a myth or truth?

I wish I had one.. they're beautiful, but they are pet holes really.. very secretive.. and aggressive.

Far as I know both males and females are cobalt blue.. I don't know that for sure though.

Both males and females are cobalt blue. When the male has gone through his maturing molt he may be more of a brownish color. You really can't tell by color unless it's a mature male, and even then there are far better indicators (like boxing gloves).

It's a pet hole. I Have a large or XL kritter keeper full of dirt, with a webbed up section of burrow. She burrowed against the wall and made a U shaped burrow. I'm lucky if I see legs sticking out once every 6 months...and that's the way it should be.
