% of Females that become gravid

I am just curious to hear from some of you with experience about how many of your females usually take. I am talking about properly sized females that were bred well. I have 12 females breeding well this season and I am wondering what a good number to realistically hope for is.

I know a lot of guys that consider 50% excellent ... LOL ... I generally run 85% - 90%

It takes two to tango! It's not only up the female. You should have at LEAST two males! I have seen females and males be choosy about who they will breed with. I think the odds have alot to do with the amount of snakes in the party! If you have one male your odds are not gonna be as good!

Two males is good advice (actually in some of my breeding groups I'm running 3 or 4 homozygous males to a large group of females) ... but 1 on 1 (or 1 on multiple) still works if you know how to get them going ... I run 85% - 90% whether I breed one male or multiple males ... I collect my breeding results by "breeding group" so it's easy to break down an individual groups stats to see what's going on.

I've said it a million times and a lot of people don't get it, but all of the advice, books, tip, tricks and whatever are worthless if you don't KNOW YOUR ANIMALS as individuals ... no two are a like ... learn each animals little "quirks" and sooner or later you'll get the percentages you want year in and year out.

So true. All mine are very different and I have become familiar with their individual eating, breeding and all around behavior/habits.
