    HET BP's

how can you tell if you're actually looking at a HET BP? do you just have to trust the breeder/seller? next spring i really want to get a female that's HET for albino or pied. i've just been wondering this.

    thanks

im not 100% sure on this but i think that there is no difference in appearance to a normal ball python and that is why you should always get a HET from a respected breeder. but im not completly sure on this.

Buy from someone you know you can trust. The seller should also provide all applicable paperwork on the snakes genetics.

    Re: HET BP's

Dan when you buy a het you are purchasing basically on the word of the breeder since there's no way to visually confirm a het's genetics. Take the time now to do your research, ask around and get recommendations on good, reputable breeders. You should always receive appropriate paperwork (including a photo identifying your specific snake).

i know for a fact that adam provides this - at 8ballpythons (his banner is on this site) and i'm sure many others do as well.

bottom line: do your homework. check their reputation on the BOI, ask around to see if others have purchased from them. this is your investment... so make sure you protect it!

Oh Aleesha, wait till you get your snakes from Adam. It's like Christmas day but better (since it involves snakes! LOL). His packaging is perfect and his paperwork is beautiful, concise and very professional.

    Re: HET BP's

I have always heard little tricks to tell if yours is a het or not, but then again, i have been told that belly spots is a het pied marker, and in that case my normal is a het pied. haha. I have learned that whatever snake you get, you should really trust the breeder. And before you order your new guy, check out the section that has reviews about people, if it is adam, or Ed, or someone that htere are reviews about already, look at the feedback, and if it is somebody that there is not too much info about, go ahead and ask about it!

    Re: HET BP's

Yeah hets are one of those things you really have to put some trust into the person you're buying from. There's been a few suggestions for 8ball Adam, I think he is one of the best out there. If you want quality hets, then holler at Adam. Will you pay more? yes you will..but if you want quality, in this line of work you have to expect to pay more for it.
