Woma's
I've seen some woma's online and some ball python/woma crosses. Just curiouse about them. Are they pretty similiar to ball pythons? same adult size? tame like bp's? just wondering. Any info would be really cool and appreciated as well.
Thanks

Re: Woma's
Well, I've only ever heard of ONE woma/ball cross....and you'd have to ask Kara about it.
Ball pythons are from Africa, and womas are from Australia. Womas don't look anything at all like balls. I don't know much about their care requirements, but the few I've seen have been very gentle animals.

Re: Woma's
Womas are great snakes. If you are looking for something 'different' than a ball python, definately something to consider. They are long, slender snakes when compared to a ball python. No snake is tame, but the womas that I have seen were handleable. I actually considered getting them at a time, but I went with the carpet pythons instead....no specific reason, I just liked the looks of the carpets better.
Are you looking for any other specific details or you just wanted the general specifics?

Re: Woma's
Yeah, I thought they were really cool looking. As far as the whole tame thing goes, I know that Ball pythons have a docility that seems to be almost unmatched from my experience in snakes. I have owned a few differen't kinds, yellow rat, florida king, corn snake, red rat, childrens python (mean S.O.B.)...All of which were kinda pissy except the red rat. but I just really like the slow moving beautiful boa's and pythons...I love the way ball pythons don't get extremely large and i can handle them without worrying about getting tagged. I think the woma's are a really good looking snake and if they are docile like most ball pythons than I may consider getting one.

I've seen some at shows i go to and they where not cheap but definately would be neat to have some in the collection. Temperment is of course going to depend on the animal itself. I have a children's python that I've raised from a hatchling that is an absolute joy to handle and has never been "pissy" ever. (Yep that's the little guy in my avatar)
Post pics if you get your hands on a woma for sure!
