I should have added to the first post. This is not my snake, I was asked what was wrong with it and offered my opinion on what it could be and told them to get to the nearest reptile vet ASAP.
do a search... i know there was a thread on this recently...

Well the owners took my advice and have called a vet, I'll update when I hear anything.
