    Smile Gerbil babies (DUW)

We have some gerbils that we use for scenting mice, and the female had a litter a few weeks back. Alyssa wants to keep the grey one, and we are trying to figure out what to do with the rest. I am hoping the local pet store will trade for some feeder rats or something. Anyway, here are the cute little buggers ......

    Awwwww....I really like gerbils!

Back when I was a kid, the only kind you could get were the brown "wild type" ones. We bred a few litters and had one pop up with the natural coloring, but with a big black splotch on her back. I wish I would have understood selective breeding and stuff back then! Now I see gerbils in all sorts of colors...sooo cute!

I just can't resist holding them they're so adorable!

I can't decide whether to name the gray one Skippy or Pirate.

I love gerbils! I vote Nippy McHopperson! I've been bitten by more gerbils than I can count on two hands, but I still love the cute little buggers...I'm a sucker for black gerbils, too bad you aren't closer.

    I like the names!!!

Alyssa has a friend that knows tons about Gerbils, and that light Grey coloring is aparently a recessive trait that both the male and female are carrying ...
