Found this little girl this morning DUW

Every morning I go out side and sit to watch the birds and lizards but right befor I sat down I found this girl hoggin my seat.

She looked almost dead so I thought I might have to add her to my colection but I figured I would try and feed her some Humming Bird nector and it worked. She bounced back right away and flew off after drinking for 20 min.

I have a very large collection of bugs from around the US, most I have colected my self. but I try and get them back on there feet first befor I desided to collect them or not.

most bounce back like this little girl and it is a great feeling when that happens

Cool looking moth. I have seen a decline in them around here over the last few weeks....guess it is just that time of the year

yeah most dont survive through the winter. they feed only on nector from folwers and hummer feeders. I keep my feeders out year round for the ones who do survive and for the missguided hummers that get stranded here over the winter.
I also keep "Hummer Houses" right by the windows so if any do get stranded they have a warm place to stay.

I have a big heart.... sometimes to big lol

What a big pretty girl! Looks like she's a Tersa, right?

I just love the sphinx moths; they're so docile.

My sisters' house is alive with moths, butterflys and hummers. Last time I went shopping with her she bought over 300lbs of birdseed and 100 lbs.sugar for the feeders. She has a cloud of over a hundred hummingbirds darting back and forth all day. Maybe next spring I could video tape it. When she bought the house she planted about 200 trees. Has her own private sanctuary.

she is a sphinx. Type, unknown. she came back to the feeder today and stayed a while. (uncomon for sphinx moths) I thought she was an Allan's Hummer female untill she landed. It was nice to see her again. was going to take photos but she left befor I could break out the camara. (I knew it was her by the missing head scales.)
