snake according to cage...
So i have a new 55 gallon tank for my BP...He is a baby, and a male at that, and i now discovered that i am going to freak him out. I am going to the Repticon show, and am looking at diffrent snakes. Do you think the cage would be big enough for a Burmese or Retic? i dont know too much about them, but i thought i would ask before i go doing a ton of research.
thanks a lot
Amy

Re: snake according to cage...
a burm or retic is probably not a good choice for a beginner. those snakes get extremely big...a 55 gallon tank will not be sufficient in a few years.

Re: snake according to cage...
and as I mentioned in our PM's...just thought i'd make it public...a red tail boa would probably do well in your 55 gal tank

If you are not able to get another snake or return the tank, a lot of people say ball up newspaper and spread it around the tank to help out some. As it gets bigger, take a piece or two out at a time.

I think i like the idea of a redtail boa...they are bigger, great snakes, and if i want to breed in the future (if i get another red tail), i dont have to worry about incubation and such.

Re: snake according to cage...
I think "cage according to species of snake" better describes the situation...
