Cricket water/food station
Just like the title. I give Moggie the blackthroat a lot of crickets at once,a nd mostly she eats all of them, and I always seem to have those few darwinian crickets that dodge and hide and survive. But they drown in the water dish, or die. I wanted to give them the water gel stuff for crickets, but was woried Moggie might eat it, or that she would just stomp through it. Sooo, I made this water station and as you can see, it's quite the popular hotspot for the bugs.
What does everyone think?

Very cool!
I run into the same issue with crickets in the waterbowls.
That's a clever and marketable idea!
(Or a wicked DIY )

i put a slice of apple in the cage for the pinhead crickets that accidently bred in there. now i use lobster roaches in a container in the cage. much easier.
if you want my honest, blunt oppinion i think its not really needed. plus the monitor can't get the crickets because they'll be protected in the container.

Thats cool, very good thinking! It would also cut down on the crickets wanting to nibble on the animal if you throw some food items in there. Have you seen them walk back out or do they hang out in there the whole time??

Re: Cricket water/food station
They do exit it, and Moggie quite quickly learned there is crickets in there. She knocks it around, then grabs the crickets as they exit. Earlier she fell asleep with her head on top of the container.
