    Feeding??

Can you feed pythons through the day or is it better to do at night?? Also what is better to mist them with, warm or cold water??

    Re: Feeding??

Some people suggest feeding in the evening when BP's would typically be active in the wild. My snake doesn't care what time of day it is, though. I really don't think it matters.

As for misting....if you must, then use room-temp water. The point of it is not to squirt the snake, but to add moisture to the environment.

    Re: Feeding??

My guy seems like he is alittle more active through the day, these last couple of days. The pinky he had last Wed. was a little small so he must be hungry??

    Re: Feeding??

He probably is...which is great because tomorrow is Wed again. (feeding the same day each week is a great way to keep track and make sure your fella is a consistent eater)

    Re: Feeding??

Don't feed him today. Just because we say he's "hungry" doesn't translate into "hunger that must be satisfied right this moment" the way it does for us humans and many other mammals. The BEST way to insure you have a BP who eats consistently for you is to feed it on the same day each week.

So, if his previous meal was last Wednesday...then feed him again tomorrow...and next Wed....etc. Establish a regular, consistent routine.

Ok, he spends quite abit of the day moving around and up in his tree, is this normal or could it be because he's looking for food?

I dunno. I'd have to know a lot more about her environment to even guess at why she is so active during the day. Mine sleeps about 99% of the day. If I"m lucky I'll see her out to get a drink or switching hides. But on feeding day, when I bring the rat into the room....she is almost instantly awake and ready to eat.
