    Re: 1K for normal female?

She'd earn the money spent on her back and make you a profit quickly if bred to the right male. If you have the money, why not spend a few hundred more on each female if they are capable of producing 2x the amount of eggs one female can? Rack space not wasted.

    Re: 1K for normal female?

There isn't any amount of money that I would let a breeder female go for. But that's because I'm a breeder not a reseller ... it would be like a nascar driver selling one of his tires in the middle of a race ... ridiculous!

    Re: 1K for normal female?

Very well put Adam. I have people all the time ask to buy breedable females from me, and ask me if I'm insane when I tell them that I'd take $10,000 for one. They are worth more than any price that could be placed on them.

What exactly could you breed a normal female to... to produce more expensive babies aside from HETS?

Co-dom or HET, when you're a breeder, there is nothing more important than female offspring ... you need female normals to make het and co-dom females for the future! Many of the het females that I produced this year of various mutations from homozygous x normal breedings are going for more $$$ than a lot of the co-doms ... Females RULE!

    Re: 1K for normal female?

I'm confused... I understand HETS and how to produce them. But I really don't understand ressecive traits, Codoms or Doms??? Could someone please explain each one? So if I breed a normal female to a mojaves or spider what would be produced?

    Re: 1K for normal female?

Normals+ Doms= Some doms AND normals.
Normals+ CoDoms= Some CoDoms AND normals... BUT if you breed a CoDom to another CoDom of the same morph(i.e. Mojave to Mojave) , you get the Super Morph.
Normals + Recessive = All Hets...

    Re: 1K for normal female?

So then Pastel is a CoDom correct? Hence the Super Pastel? (My second favorite morph is a Super Pastel Pinstripe...)

What do you get when you breed Doms x Doms???

    Re: 1K for normal female?

Doms x Doms = More doms and normals, BUT some of the doms will be Homozygous, meaning, when bred to another Dom, it will make all doms, and no normals.

It's kind of like a hit and miss, because you can't identify a homozygous Dom, unless you breed it to another dom.
