    Sexing Probes

How many do you need? I see sets of 3, sets of 6, sets of 8....how many are necessary?

    Re: Probes

Hmmm, I personally purchased a set of five from http://www.premiumcrickets.com/Snake-Sexing-Probes.html and that seems to handle babies to adults (ball pythons)

    Re: Probes

Nate,i have 2 differant sets of probes.First is the straight wire looking ones and second set is the ball tipped ones.Since i have colubrids and ball python i needed both. For ball pythons only go with the ball tipped ones as they are safer and more accurite in my opinion. As far as how many just make sure you have one each for babies up to adults.

    Re: Probes

Is there any documentation on what size probe to use with a certain sized ball python? Or is it basically an educated guess?

    Re: Probes

Educated guess, if a probe is too big it's a feel thing.

You pretty much determine the correct size of probe to the size of the snake.I use the next size down just to be extra carefull, thats just me though. If you get resistence as soon as you place it in then the probe might be to large, please dont confuse this with it being a female unless you are 110% sure of it.
