Moderators? Admins? BPnet Veterans?

I don't really understand how this community thing is put together. I'm guessing that the admins are the people that own this site. The moderators are people who help out. And what are the Bpnet Veterans. I'm just curious . Do people become moderators because they are trusted by the admins, or what. And how do people become BPnet veterans, and whats the difference.
