    Moggie Update

    Awesome news!!!
Tonight I put my hand into the tank, and Moggie came up, and flicked her tongue over the back of my hand several times, then she proceeded to NUDGE my hand repeatedly!
I'm so excited. She really is a GREAT lizard.
On a side note, will feeding her a COOKED shrimp hurt her? I thought to give her one, and didn't even THINK about it being cooked until this morning. She ate it right up, I think she would eat aquarium gravel if I put it in her dish.

Cooked won't hurt him, but I agree on the seasonings, (I'm sure it wouldn't be too damaging) You just may have a mess of monitor poop to clean up if your shrimp was spiced up at all.
I'm glad he is getting to the point of understanding you're not going to hurt him. keep us updated on his acclimating.

    Re: Moggie Update

this was a pre-cooked frozen shrimp, so no spicing, you are supposed to thaw thema nd THEN heat them with your own seasonings, sauces or whatever. I like to think I am intelligent enough to not feed her spicy chicken wings or the like.... I LIKE to think that, but I can be pretty stupid sometimes.. roflol. No, I won't give her people spiced foods. Mostly not people foods at all.
Charity likes the shrimp okay, but it MUST be chopped into bite size pieces and arranged JUST so. LOL.. she is such a prima donna. Moggie is like a yard dog, eats anything, likes attention, digs in her dirt and sleeping a lot. Charity is the primping prima donna spoiled starlet. Everything MUST be JUST so. She also LOVES to play in her water dish, swims around in circles, soaks, ducks down in it, and Moggie, never gets into her water dish. She drinks, and thats it. Charity's water dish has to be cleaned out twice a day, as she tracks that lovely dirt into it constantly.
