    Bored

You know that bored feeling you get when you literally want to just lie on the floor and stare at the cracks in the ceiling. Yup I'm that bored.
Why do you ask? because it's been raining the past few days, not the nice hot summer rain that you can play in, but the cold rain that tells you it is almost fall in New England.
Here at the rescue, you'd think there would be tons to do. And usually there is, but with the past few days spent indoors all the major tasks have been completed (Our friend has even been here cleaning cages out of boredom the last few days). And being the afternoon I have already fed everyone that needed to be fed, including the humans.
Well I think it's time to sit down with my new Stephen King book "Bag of Bones". I'm on page 143 and starting to become addicted. Anyone else read it?
Anyhow, thought I'd make a random rant in the Off Topic Cafe.

    Re: Bored

It's been like that here in Ohio too Rusty for the past three days. Cold rain or a constant sort of drizzle that wants to be rain but can't work up the energy to do so.

I managed to get out to the library and the grocery store, got all my own work done and the various humans and animals fed. Now I'm happily sipping cinnamon coffee and being a lazy thing. I think later like you I'll curl up under a blanket, sip more coffee and dive back into my own book. Mystery sort of thing, main character is a female medical examiner and it's full of awful, disgusting yet fascinating bones and mysterious corpses popping up in the most unlikely places. A perfect read for a rainy day with not much to do in it.

    Re: Bored

I haven't read it yet, but I think I have it around here somewhere. I guess I should pull it out and get started. Just finished The Ruins, by the same guy who wrote A Simple Plan. Very creepy book!

    Re: Bored

I've been going through books like they were candy, lately! Just finished Day of the Cheetah by Dale Brown (great book for anyone who loves technology and airplanes) and have just started Elvenblood the second book in the Elvenbane series (fantasy... elves, wizards, dragons, you name it).

The first thing I'm going to do when I get back into Columbus is hit up a half-priced book store. I've read most of my collection here at my parents.

I feel you with the rain boredom dilemma. I just finished reading "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostav, which was a really cool book about dracula and vlad the impaler, filled with lots of history. And now I'm trucking through book 3 of Anne Rice's "The Life of the Mayfair Witches" one of her chronicles. Both good if you're into that sorta thing...like I am

Sunny, hot and clear here...but then, it's SoCal...our weather is boring.

I've been reading through several series from Black Library, fiction written to go along with the table top games from Games Workshop, especially the game Warhammer 40,000 (think Spanish Inquisition in space in the future). Current book: Raventhorne.

Last amazing book I read was 'Pillars of the Earth' by Ken Follett and the 'Eisenhorn' trilogy by Dan Abnett from Black Library.

It's too hot down here in Philly. Muggy too. I'd rather have the cold rain. I detest hot weather. The last good book I read was Maximum Ride:the angel experiment. It was really neat,a real fast read, and I hope they make it into a movie.
