    Heyla!

Hello everyone! New to the boards here, and slightly new to herpes as well, just thought I ought to drop in since I've been scoping out the place for a while now ^^ Currently I have a creamsicle corn snake that I am assuming is female until I find a vet that can properly check her, named Pavlushka. She was my first snake and such a doll. I can't be sure of her age, but she is a tiny thing and I know she was born within this year. Have had her for about 2 months now and she has shed twice and fed without failing every Sunday.

Also just recently added to my little family by taking in a baby ball python today. I am guessing this one to be male, but like before, need to find a good vet first to be sure. Call him Dimitri for now and he is a sweetheart. Very calm temperment and he didn't strike when I fed him today. Kind of takes it gingerly like my little Pavlushka does and settled right into his home afterwards.

I also have an aquarium, I an an aquascaping enthusiast and trying to get into it more, but can't since I am stretching my money between each of my little darlings. For now, its just a 12 gal freshwater tank with some Rotala Green that is slowing filling in and my residents of 9 neon tetras and 2 ghost shrimp.

Hope to contribute and enjoy the company of those here while I am apart of this community ^^

Welcome. Have any pics? Also, you might try reading the caresheets just to make sure you have everything set up correctly.

    Re: Heyla!

Hey! No, no pictures just yet -_- I am waiting until they both have settled from their feeding to take any pictures, so about Thursday or Friday. Plus I don't want to be bothering my little Dimitri just yet since this is a whole new home for him now. Everything is fairly set up well now, although I had to place a cardboard covering in front of the heat mat that I set on the tank side so that I didn't have any potential issues with my darlings getting fried by it. I'm so paranoid about that ><

But really, I am wondering about one thing. I keep hearing about mites and other such potential invaders on snakes, is there a site or on here somewhere that has pictures to go with these issues so that I can keep a clsoe eye on my little ones to make sure nothing crops up?

    Re: Heyla!

Well, if you take care of your snake, and he doesn't soak in hi water bowl alot, he probably doesn't have mites, if you get suspicious, ask us and show us pics.

    Welcome to the site.

Also, about you not wnating to stretch your wallet, I would look into getting sterlite tubs for your snakes. They are waaaaay better than aquariums and keep in the temp/humidity.

I've been reading about using tubs a lot now and it definately has my interest. I figure once Dimitri starts to grow, I will switch him into the 20 gal and move Pavlushka to a tub where she might feel a little more snug. Oh, also tried to get some pictures, I apologize greatly for the blurriness, but they were both in a moving mood today ^^

Lol, my ball pythons like to hide in various clothing, lol, sometimes they'll hide in the middle of my fingers.
